“Self-compassion is simply giving the same kindness to ourselves that we would give to others”
-Christopher Germer
meet jenny.
Welcome! I am glad you are here.
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas since 2014, and a Licensed Master of Social Work since 2011. I provide psychotherapy services both via Telehealth in Texas and New York, and I meet with Clients in-person in my Central Austin office.
With a focus on self-compassion, and a base of knowledge in attachment theory, I join with my clients to address the following struggles: complicated relationships, navigating life transition (all sizes), stress, shame, generalized worry, low self-esteem, sadness and loss of identity. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy to treat symptoms of anxiety and trauma with lasting results.
There are meaningful reasons for our patterns or beliefs, even if we do not yet understand them. I will offer safety, presence, and purpose in our work together. You will be met with compassion and understanding, regardless of what brings you to therapy.
When not at work, you can find my partner and I running past as we chase down our two children and our giant labradoodle.
I hope to talk with you soon!
